Monnow came a very admirable second in the annual inter-club swimming gala against Chepstow, Caldicot and Abergavenny.
There were great swims from all of the Monnow team including personal bests for many. There were individual wins for Lucy, Matthew, Ben and Ellie. The girls’ 15 and under team (Alice, Emily, Katie and Lucy) won both their freestyle and medley relays. There were also relay wins for the boys’ 11 and under medley team, boys’ 13 and under freestyle team and girls’ 11 and under freestyle team.
The competition ended with a very exciting float relay finale with the Monnow team of four boys and four girls of different ages just holding off a strong challenge from Chepstow in the final length.
