Sunday 11th December saw the Monnow team head to Newport for the annual Christmas Cracker competition. Swimmers from aged 8 to 13 competed in the event. The swimmers were enthusiastically supported by their families and one another. For some it was their first time swimming in an open competition against other clubs, and all swam brilliantly. The months of training for this event really paid off; without exception everyone swam personal best times, in some cases absolutely smashing their previously recorded times.

At the end of the day points from all individual events were added up and the age group winners were announced. Joe was awarded third place in the hotly contested 13 year old boys section and George was crowned number 1 10 year old boy. Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part.
