Monnow Swimming Club took part in the Torfaen Swim Squad Open Meet at Newport International Sports Village on the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2012.
A squad of 10 entered the Level 4 development meet. For some of the squad it was the first time that they had raced under competition conditions. Saturday got off to a brilliant start with all the swimmers improving on their personal best and a total of 9 medals.
Sunday was another great day. Again all improving on their personal best and another 8 medals for Monnow bringing the total medals haul to 17.
At the Level 2 meet we had four swimmers who also improved their personal best and another medal.
